How to follow up with your Rabbi

Our clients are often juggling a series of important work and personal responsibilities. Most of our clients are running a non-profit organization and have businesses. Your message probably doesn’t make it to their priority list.

Don't worry, we've got your covered! Let's dive into how to effectively follow-up about a task.

No response means delayed work, missed deadline, or worse, miscommunication. As frustrating and disappointing as it may be, a lack of response doesn’t mean they want to blow steam from your ears. It’s important to maintain perspective and understand that our clients are busy people and it's our task to help them freeup their time by taking off some tasks off their plate. However, seeing a lot of pending tasks can sometimes be stressful.

Here are some tips when following up about a task

Make A Clear Ask

At times, clients tend to forget to respond to messages especially when they're swamped. Send a short message and ask clear questions about the current tasks. The clearer you are, the easier it is for them to respond. You can ask questions like “Is there a time this week that works for you to review my work?” “Do you have some time to talk about the task that you gave me last week?" "Are you able to quickly check my work for me to be able to continue?"

Ask For Help

If your client goes dark for a week without any explanation and you haven't received a response after several follow-ups, reach out to Chabad Concierge support for assistance. Our account manager might be able to reach out to the client on your behalf and ask for an update. There's a good chance your client went on a vacation, is out of town, had an emergency, or is just slammed with too many personal and business related responsibilities and forgot to inform you ahead of time.

Move On & Work On Other Tasks

We’ve all been there. You message someone asking for an information and you get no response. It can sometimes be frustrating to wait for a reply after several follow-ups especially when you have many pending tasks. Following up with clients who aren’t getting back to you is an inevitable. After you exhausted all the possible ways to get a response and still gotten none, move on and work on your other tasks. If you have other tasks from other clients, work on them or work on your filler tasks while waiting for your client's response to stay productive.
