Cheers! You're one step closer to starting work with a client. Let me guess, you must be excited, happy, anxious, nervous - getting butterflies in your stomach? I know! It's a mix of emotions.
While that's very normal before meeting a client, it is very important to be 100% prepared for the onboarding. Don't let all the emotions take over you and make sure you have everything you need for the onboarding. Remember, every bit of preparation that you can do will help to increase your comfort level and make you feel more confident and capable in the interview.
I've got you here a few tips to have an effective and successful onboarding.
-Set expectations on what you can and cannot do for the client
-Come with questions prepared for the client
- Ask about the tasks
- Ask the client what time works best for her/him for meetings and delegating tasks
- Ask how often they'll give you tasks
-Remain calm and professional
-Be transparent from start to finish
-Be on the same page with the client
If this is your first time and you are having difficulties with expressing yourself in the interviews, try to practice before your meeting with the client and just don't be nervous. The onboarding is not an interview where if you fail, you won't get the job. You have already been matched with the client and got the job so just think of it like a fan meeting where you are the celebrity and the client is your number one fan with a few questions to get to know you more.
Pro Wine tip: Just relax and be yourself; you are good enough, mate!
